Calton Hill, Edinburgh |
This week's blog is about my admiration for the beauty of the British cities, and how i find each one unique from another. Among the small number of cities in the UK i have visited, below is a list of my personal favorites.
3.Gorgeous Glasgow
George Street, Glasgow |
It was the 8th of January, 2019, when i had my first walk around Glasgow with my fellow friend Joshua. I will never forget the scene of George Street into the City Center from where i stood, outside of my student accommodation. It was at this moment that i had to pinch myself to ensure i was not dreaming or in an old British film.
I immediately felt the need to take a photograph of what i had witnessed, and sent it to my mom. Since then, I had never stopped taking pictures of the classy British infrastructure, never mind modern or old.

But what makes Glasgow unique from others, in my opinion, is not its architecture, but its mural culture all over the city. In every corner of a random street, you are likely to be astonished with random gigantic brightly coloured paintings. Why is this done? Even though i have no clue to the answer, a picture with the murals is still mandatory!

2.Luxurious London
If not for a friend's offer to host in London, me and Joshua would have been broke before we lay our heads in London on the very first day. YES! London is very expensive that it makes us believe Glasgow was affordable. Nonetheless, the beauty of London makes up for its price, and no doubt can be established that this city is the one of the top all over the world.
Every part of London is spectacular to my eyes during my time there:- the Leicester Square, the London Eye, the London bridge along with the Tower, and all the best museums in the world in a square kilometer within the city, and the list goes on. I spent some of the most memorable days of my life during my visit to the capital, and I am pretty certain i will be visiting soon regardless of its price, and not-so-friendly Londoners!

1.Easy on the Eye Edinburgh!
Dean Village, Edinburgh |
The city of Edinburgh has to be my most favorite city in all of Great Britain, and arguably most beautiful too! I remember the day i took my first bus trip to this place, allured to its elegance that i decided to not take photos in case i miss anything with my eyes. The Edinburgh Castle on top of the hill is a sight to behold and the old town of Edinburgh is indescribably through words within my limited vocabulary, just like a walk through the Harry Potter's Diagon Alley(if that helps)! Everything about this city is a personal treasure for me: the food both eastern and western, the mixture of old and modern architecture, the picturesque Dean village(world heritage site!), the abundance of tiny coffee shops around every corner, et cetera. The reason i choose Edinburgh over London is because i find the former preferably more slow paced, affordable, romantic and artistic. With more approachable and warming northern people, i could just live in this city forever. Only an hour away by bus, me and my friends go to this city for fun!

So, these are my personal favorite cities from the UK. What do you think of them? Are they different from the cities in the country you are studying in? Share your thoughts in the comment section. Cheers!
